3.5 In a joint venture between three Ghanaian companies, they established a loan service service providing capital from the Ghanaian State to facilitate repayment. They also introduced ‘Independence Loan’ which was made before the end of 2012. Their first loan was for Rs. 40,000,000 and the second for Rs. 50,000,000.

While the loan process was carried out in good faith they also made significant improvements through the introduction of ‘Trust Bank’. Their trust bank is expected to become independent and this in turn would provide them with additional financial support at high rates. At present the only beneficiary of the trust bank is Jamaic Bank which is the only one from Ghana to have accepted all the loans from them.

This gives the trust bank full control over the capital that is paid out from the loan and to enable them to fully participate in the project. The loan will only be completed on a certain date in order to ensure that a ‘loan deadline’.

The trust bank will also be able to pay back any fees charged by the lenders and have no liability to the lender in respect of any loans that are received from them if a loan is not paid back within two months. This will reduce the maximum amount owed in the event both the banks and the project owner agree to a loan agreement that is not possible if the project owner agrees
